Lexus offers dynamic rear steering (DRS) for both of these hybrids. This feature amps up the excitement of high-speed driving by allowing the rear wheels to turn with the front wheels.
During slower speeds, the rear wheels may turn the opposite direction from the front wheels to achieve the ultimate maneuverability. You need to experience DRS to fully understand the feeling of freedom it brings.
The rear eAxle is standard on the plug in hybrid. With this DIRECT4 function, drive force shifts among the four wheels effortlessly. This allows the Lexus TX 550h+ to vary between 100:0 front wheel drive and 20:80 rear wheel drive. This electronic function moves drive force to achieve grip, balance or acceleration as needed.
