2025 Lexus RZ Review | RZ 300e Joins RZ 450e

As the new model year dawns, the 2025 Lexus RZ stands out with its long electric driving range for the traveler and remarkable savings for the daily driver.

In this 2025 Lexus RZ Review, we’ll compare the RZ 300e and RZ 450e and discuss the difference between front-wheel and all-wheel drive performance. We’ll discuss new technologies and new amenities now available for this model year. Keep scrolling to find out more.

RZ 300e FWD vs 450e AWD

The 2025 Lexus RZ comes in a 300e model with a single electric motor set-up. When equipped with the standard 18-inch wheels, this 201-horsepower electric vehicle has a driving range of 266 miles. The same model can earn 137 mpge in the city and 112 mpge on the highway. With sporty 20-inch wheels, the city/highway rating is 114/96 mpge, and the driving range is 224 miles.

If you want a performance SUV or you desire the all-weather, multi-terrain capability, the RZ 450e will match your needs. There’s nothing quite like Lexus DIRECT4 for efficient all-wheel drive. This uses separate electric motors to drive the front and rear wheels. It favors balanced (100:0) front wheel drive, but instantaneously can divide up the torque between the axles as needed or send it all (0:100) to the rear wheels.

This dual-electric system produces a combined rate of 308 horsepower.  The range is 196 or 220 miles, depending on tire size. Likewise, the EPA estimates show 95 or 107 mpge combined.

Engaging Driving Performance

To meet Lexus’ tough standards, cutting-edge engineering is utilized throughout the RZ’s construction to ensure sporty, safe handling.  Aerodynamics are emphasized with a lightweight e-TNGA platform, aluminum hood, and low center of gravity. The front-strut, rear multi-link suspension utilizes rear Frequency Reactive Dampers to continually adjust to road surface changes.

These efforts result in a high level of handling stability to please the driver and excellent ride quality to please everyone aboard the RZ 300 or 450e.

Every weld, every joint and every joint has been expertly placed through such methods as Laser Peening and Laser Screw Welding. A 96-cell lithium-ion battery pack maintains the right temperature through insulation, efficient water-cooling, and water-heating systems.

Brake feel is a major consideration in the evolving world of electric vehicles. To ensure that this ride meets the requirements of the Lexus Driving Signature, it has an active hydraulic booster-G braking system and ergonomic brake pedal pads. Drivers will not be aware of what’s happening behind the scenes, but they will feel incredibly confident when they hit the brakes.

2025 Lexus RZ Prices and Ownership Costs

What should you know about 2025 Lexus RZ prices?  The new RZ 300e price starts at $43,175 MSRP for front-wheel drive. For that, you receive a true luxury vehicle that also happens to be a terrific electric vehicle. As you climb the trim ladder, you will add more luxuries and more capability. Yet the top Lexus RZ 450e price starts at $58,605 MSRP.

These prices are just a starting place, but they do include a processing/handling fee of $1,175. Shoppers may be eligible for the potential $7,500 savings that can be utilized through the federal EV income tax deduction.

Adding a bonus, a Lexus RZ purchase or lease comes with the incredible Lexus Reserve Program. This provides up to thirty days of Lexus rentals over a three year period.

Ownership costs for a Lexus are considered extremely reasonable, even for a luxury SUV.  Of course, the 2025 Lexus RZ makes it even cheaper to drive since it relies on charging rather than gasoline. With the tools that Lexus offers, you can schedule charging at the least expensive times to maximize your savings.

A Luxurious Cabin

From a wireless charger to active sound control, the 2025 Lexus RZ works hard in every way to take care of the driver and passengers.  Using a minimalist approach, the cabin maintains an airy feel although it is packed with luxuries. An available Dynamic Sky roof can add to the openness.

NuLuxe and Ultrasuede, made from bio-based sustainable materials, are among its upholstery choices. Color options include Palomino and Dapple Gray. A duo-tone look is achieved with Thunderstorm and Macadamia.

Multi-color ambient lighting is standard for Premium and Luxury grade models. Shadow illumination creates a decorative effect on the doors. Another unique feature is the use of  Tsuyasumi film. RZ Luxury models offer this available decoration that creates a highly textured effect on the center console.

The Digital Key and Remote Control subscription work with the Lexus app. Drivers can start their vehicle remotely, lock and unlock via app, and more. Plus their phone can act as their key when they are ready to take a drive.

The Tazuna Cockpit

Focused on the driver, the cockpit represents Tazuna, which is Japanese for a horse’s rein. Arrangement reflects the latest understanding of ergonomics, placing the important functions near the driver. Furthermore, the low hood already provides a better field of view, but this is enhanced further by the optimally positioned instrument panel.

The touchscreen is a 14-inch high-definition display that uses a high-adhesion, anti-reflective coating. Not only is it easy to see in any light situation, but the menu operations are easy to use since they are modeled after smartphones and tablets. Convenient knobs supplement the screen by providing easy access to power and volume.

Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth are standard, but Lexus goes further, offering the maximum connectivity tools for information and entertainment. Unlike most systems, for instance, drivers enjoy playback ability with HD Radio.  With the WiFi Connect subscription, the driver can take advantage of Integrated Streaming. For instance, you can use your subscriptions to Amazon Music or Apple Music through the touchscreen.

Drive Connect is cloud navigation that adds Google points of interest with online and offline modes. The “Hey Lexus” Intelligent Assistant has enhanced noise cancellation, seat detection, and two microphones.

The ABCs of Electric Charging

Lexus makes it easier than ever before to charge. A 120V/240V dual-voltage charging cable is standard. The CCSi socket allows for different charging systems, such as at-home or public hook-ups.

You can use a Remote Connect subscription to maintain control over charging with the Lexus app.  It can be used to edit the charging schedule or to start and stop charging.  Of course, it also allows for remote lock/unlock, vehicle start, and climate control start functions.

4In addition to your app and your dash, you can look at an illuminated front “L” emblem to see what your charging status is. This available feature utilizes a millimeter wave radar sensor to keep you informed.

If this is your first electric vehicle, you will probably need to establish a home charging station. ChargePoint Home Flex is available through our :Lexus dealership in Phoenix. This Level 2 charger is Energy Star certified. It can be installed in your garage or outdoors. Plus it has a 23-foot charging cable and is Wi-Fi enabled. End-to-end installation services and guidance are offered by Qmerit.

Level 2 chargers work overnight in about 9.5 hours, taking it from low battery light to full. That’s about 9 times faster than a standard 120V outlet. If you just need enough charge for area travel, it can add 25 miles every hour.

Roadside DC fast chargers crank it up to 80 percent in 30 to 35 minutes. You can utilize the Lexus App to find the nearest DC fast chargers. Earnhardt Lexus offers a fast way to shop online via No Bull Express.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Lexus packs a luxury level of driver assistance into every RZ. Higher trims gain even more crash avoidance technologies. A sampling includes:

Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection

All-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with Curve Speed Management

Lane Tracing Assist

Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist

Road Sign Assist

Proactive Driving Assist

In addition to the forward crash avoidance system, Lexus has Risk Avoidance Emergency Steer Assist. This can support safe steering to maintain a safe trajectory. Another advanced feature is Left Turn Oncoming Vehicle Detection and Braking.

For simplified parking, the Four Parallel View Monitor cameras and 12 sensors can work together to steer, accelerate, brake and shift into or out of a parking space. For safety after parking, a high-tech Exit Assist can recognize oncoming traffic or a bicycle and lock the doors to prevent a potential injury to the driver or passengers.

The Curb Appeal of the Lexus RZ: Exterior Col;ors

Sitting still, the 2025 Lexus RZ expresses forward momentum with its sculpted door shapes and front fenders that seem to wrap around the tires. The distinctive roof spoiler, which suppresses aerodynamic force, and the three-dimensional shape over the rear fenders add to the feeling of motion.

Elegant and refined, the Lexus spindle body -- without the need for the spindle grille -- has a minimal opening with grille shutters for aerodynamics.  A low hood design, a special undercover, and the shape of the roof and trunk are all designed to decrease wind resistance.

At the rear, Lexus has emphasized the EV’s wide stance, emphasizing its performance credentials. The logo LEXUS is spelled out in the horizontal rear combination lamps.

Exterior colors are represented by evocative names such as Caviar, Iridium, and Ether. If you want a bi-tone paint option, there are three colors offered, including the exciting Copper Crest and magnificent Cloudburst Gray.  If you like to customize, spend some time with the Build Your Lexus tool.
