2025 Lexus NX Review

Every year Lexus adds more to its vehicle packages.  This year there’s excitement around a new standard technology and a favorite feature.

Lexus starts you off with the choice of a 203-horsepower engine or a 275-horsepower engine. The speedy turbo raises the torque rate to a rousing 317 lb-ft.

With two high-torque electric drive motor-generators, engineers eliminated the need for special four-wheel drive equipment. Instead the two motors can act independently. This allows the rear motor to provide all-wheel drive. Meanwhile the combined output is 240 horsepower. Even better, the hybrid luxury SUV has been rated at a combined 39 mpg by the EPA.

At the top of the pile, the NX 450h+ has an EPA rating of 84 MPGe combined. It has an EPA-estimated 37-mile electric range.  It cuts 1.2 seconds off the hybrid’s 0-60 mph sprint. 

Available on the NX 350 and NX 450h+, the F Sport Handling package adds to the excitement of driving these luxury compact SUVs. These trim levels have front and rear performance dampers. The Active Variable Suspension handles the road’s imperfections by responding in milliseconds to terrain changes.

Inside the 2025 Lexus NX interior, a lush cabin invites you to relax. This compact luxury SUV has a sophisticated aesthetic with top quality materials crafted for beauty and durability. Technology is integrated to work with you, never distract you.  

Interior colors include Palomino, Rioja Red, Black, a new Macadamia, and black with Circuit Red.  Adding more personality, Thematic Ambient Illumination has 14 settings. Each theme evokes peaceful scenes such as Rain Forest and Sunset. 

For soft touches, either NuLuxe® or leather upholstery is standard. F Sport models add bolstered sport seats and Dark Graphite Aluminum elements.  

Spacious, comfortable seats provide adults with a welcoming perch on either row. The driver cockpit was specially designed for ergonomics with every control within their reach and forward sightline.

Providing a vivid display, the high-definition touchscreen has a high-adhesion, anti-reflective coating.  This 9.8-inch screen can be upgraded to a 14-inch screen.  Drivers find the menus easy to use, especially since they resemble the common menus on smartphones and tablets.

Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are on board. A Drive Connect subscription adds Cloud Navigation and the Hey Lexus Intelligent Assistant.  For 2025, the Lexus has added USB Type-C ports and made the wireless charger available on every trim.

The available Head-Up Display has a smart trick. When the driver uses the memory function to adjust the seat and mirrors, the system will also position the head up display to match the driver’s preference. Standard Road Sign Assist will display the appropriate icon in the driver’s MID display.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 just keeps getting better and better. The pre-collision system has bicyclist, motorist and pedestrian detection as well as stopping car recognition. In all of these cases, the driver receives visual and audible feedback. If the situation is dire, the system reacts with automatic emergency braking.

During a left hand turn, the advanced system warns the driver about an oncoming car and may automatically brake to prevent collision. Meanwhile, the risk avoidance emergency steer assist enhances stability as it seeks to prevent accidental lane departure.  

With even more radar, cameras and sensors in play, All-Speed Radar Cruise Control is perfect for busy highways with slow-and-go traffic. Even better, Lexus has added Curve Speed Management.  Reducing your burden even further, Lane Tracing Assist can detect the road lines and maintain a safe trajectory.

Even when this adaptive cruise control is not in play, the driver has proactive driving assist and lane departure steering assist for safer travel. Safe Exit Assist tries to prevent Lexus NX passengers from stepping out of the vehicle into the path of a car or cyclist.

The 2025 NX250 price starts at $41,965 MSRP. From there, you can choose Premium, AWD, or AWD Premium models.

If you want a sportier engine, the NX350 AWD price is $45,725 MSRP.  Slotted above the Premium and Luxury NX350 trims, the NX350 AWD F Sport Handling model has an exciting duotone interior and 17-speaker Mark Levinson Surround Sound.

With a price that invites you to go green, the NX350h starts at $46,275 MSRP. It’s available in Premium and Luxury grades.

The NX450h+ Luxury is packed with nearly everything on the menu. Priced at $62,390 MSRP, there’s just a $1,100 bump for stepping up to the NX450h+ F Sport Handling trim level. That MSRP is $63,480.
