Design 

Lexus vehicles are known for their magnificent designs and craftsmanship, and the 2022 Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance is no different. Setting it apart from the standard IS 350 F Sport is a raised hood and more sculpted center lines, as well as a lengthened front bumper and fenders. Dark chrome window trim and a revised lower rear diffuser round out the updates to the sleek design. When climbing behind the wheel, you’ll find black F Sport Performance badging on a leather-wrapped steering wheel that also happens to be heated. The cabin is tailor-made to fit the driver for an exhilarating yet luxurious experience. 

Engine Specifications 

You can’t have the word “Performance” in a car’s name and not equip it with a powerful engine. Lexus did its thing and put a pulse-pounding 5.0-liter V8 engine capable of 472 horsepower and 395 lb.-ft of torque under the hood, which makes it mighty and quite fast as well. The dual stacked tail pipes let you know who was here with its fierce amplification of that impressive V8 engine. That engine is paired to an eight-speed Sport Direct Shift automatic transmission with a lockup torque converter for a dynamic ride.  

Safety Features 

Safety is key as well, and Lexus is delivering here. You’ll find the updated Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 inside the 2022 Lexus IS 500 Sport Performance, and that comes with stellar technologies to help assist drivers in certain common driving scenarios. This suite of technology features includes the Pre-Collision System (which itself includes Frontal Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Emergency Steering Assist, Pedestrian Detection, and Bicyclist Detection), All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Intelligent High Beams, and Road Sign Assist. 

The car will also come with Lexus Enform Safety Connect, which includes access to Lexus Enform response centers on a 24/7 basis for a three-year trial period. Lexus Enform Service Connect is offered complimentary for 10 years, giving you access to alerts for when certain maintenance is required.
