Level 1: ANY OUTLET

Requiring no additional installation, Level 1 charging1 is as simple as plugging your phone or laptop into a standard 120-volt household outlet. Averaging up to four miles of replenished range per hour that it's plugged in,2 this more leisurely charging method is ideal if you have a short commute.

Level 2: HOME + PUBLIC

Like many large appliances in your home, these faster chargers require a 240-volt outlet. Installed in your home by a licensed electrician and also frequently located in public charging stations, Level 2 chargers offer the added flexibility of charging at home or when out and about.

Level 3: PUBLIC

Replenishing your range as quickly as up to 3 miles per minute in ideal conditions,2,3 this can be the fastest way to charge. Level 3 chargers use direct current, or DC, instead of alternating current, or AC power. Currently, DC Fast Chargers are only available at public charging stations.

MAKE THE MOST OF EVERY DRIVE

As a battery electric vehicle, the RZ’s driving range and charging time will vary due to different factors.

RANGE FACTORS

The range you experience may differ from what’s shown on the Multi-Information Display (MID). Like other Lexus vehicles, RZ predicts expected range based on your recent driving and may not accurately predict actual range if your driving pattern changes.

Vehicle range is impacted by a variety of factors, so please plan ahead and avoid letting your charge get too low.

  • Vehicle Speed
  • Where & How You Drive
  • Outside Temperature
  • HVAC & Accessory Use
  • Charging Habits

CHARGING TIME

One key factor that affects DC Fast Charging is weather. As temperatures decrease, DC charging time will increase. As temperatures drop below freezing, this increase can be significant.

Charging time will also increase if multiple DC Fast Charging sessions are conducted within the same day, regardless of the weather. Level 1 and 2 charging speeds will not be affected. For additional important information, including when DC charging can resume at normal speeds, visit the RZ Charging FAQs

Factors that affect charging time:

FAQ

Lexus offers three types of electrified vehicles: hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric (referred to as Battery Electric, Battery EVs, BEVs, or simply EVs).

All-electric vehicles can offer drivers convenience, potential savings, and can help the environment by reducing CO2 emissions. They're also fun to drive, courtesy of the immediate torque response from the electric motors, DIRECT4 all-wheel drive technology, as well as the smooth acceleration and quiet cabin.

All-electric vehicles can also be conveniently charged at home, overnight and on-demand, as well as at public charging stations when out and about. No more trips to the gas station required. In addition to fuel savings, drivers may also be able to enjoy a state tax credit, as well as the potential long-term maintenance savings typical of an all-electric powertrain5.

Of course, an all-electric Lexus is designed to provide owners even more. In addition to the driver-inspired craftsmanship, attention to detail and intuitive technology that have always set Lexus apart, every electrified Lexus is supported by an expansive dealer network that's world-renowned for its unrivaled care and unparalleled expertise.

Thanks to the use of electric motors instead of internal combustion engines, all-electric vehicles provide smooth acceleration, immediate torque response and a surprisingly quiet ride experience.

The driving range of an all-electric vehicle will vary depending on how/where you drive, charging habits, accessory use, outside temperature and other factors. Battery capacity also decreases with time and use, which will reduce range.

Gradual acceleration, flat terrain, and even pre-conditioning the temperature of your Lexus while it's plugged in can potentially have a positive effect on driving range. However, please note that all-electric driving range may decrease significantly depending on speed, outside temperature, accessory use, how/where you drive, charging habits and other factors. Battery capacity also decreases with time and use, which will reduce range.

Disclaimer:

1. Charging time may be longer using standard 120V outlet. Always plug in/charge vehicle in accordance with Owner's Manual.

2. Use for comparison purposes only. Actual range will vary significantly depending on charging and driving conditions, including outside temperature, speed, accessory use, how/where you drive, battery condition and other factors. See www.fueleconomy.gov and Owner's Manual for details.

3. DC charging time will vary based on weather and other factors. DC charging times will increase as temperatures decrease below 50 degrees Fahrenheit, with significant increases possible at temperatures below freezing. DC charging more than three times within 12 hours also can significantly increase charging time and will require approximately six hours before high-speed DC charging can be resumed. Accessory use, battery level and condition, and charger specifications also can negatively affect charging times.

4. Limited availability. See your preferred Lexus dealer for details.
